Almost 900 Amazon workers at a Coventry warehouse are preparing to strike for 3 days this week in a long-running dispute over pay.

The walkout by members of the GMB union will run from 11-13 July for 2 hours within the morning and two within the night on every of the three days.

Starting pay for Amazon workers falls between £11-£12 per hour, relying on the placement. However, GMB members are calling for at the very least £15 an hour to assist with the cost-of-living disaster.

Rachel Fagan, Senior Organiser at GMB, stated: “GMB Members in Coventry have time and time once more proven that this struggle will solely finish with £15 an hour and union rights.”

The strike coincides with a Prime Day sale Amazon introduced for 11-12 July. Although, Amazon stated the Coventry warehouse doesn’t straight serve buyer orders so there can be no disruption to clients.

The warehouse became Amazon’s first in the UK to have walkouts in January. Last month, the union stated the warehouse workers had voted for six extra months of strikes following a string of business motion.
